Cocktail Bar, Cleveland
CLEVELAND, Ohio - A snazzy cocktail goes a long way, so much so that the Fairmount draws regulars from all over the area. The Cleveland Heights spot rolls out a stellar cocktail list that mixes old classics with signature elixirs. Unique but simple; classy yet unpretentious.
The Happy Hour menu must've been crafted in some parallel universe. The $8.50 pizza menu boasts six pies - each offering unique takes on simple themes. The Apple Crisp paired, yes, apples provolone, mozzarella, prosciutto, sage and blue cheese. You could find a cheaper pizza in Happyland, but this one is among the most unique.

Fairmount Cocktail Bar
2448 Fairmount Boulevard, Cleveland Heights
Happy Hour: 4-7 Monday-Friday
You could say the same about the Chicken Tacos. The $9 tag for three appears steep, but the shells are hefty and stuffed, filled with jerk chicken, Mexican queso, lettuce, seared corn and grilled onion. Tasty too.
The Caesar Wrap ($7.50) offers a unique presentation of a common offering. The fish and chips plates ($7.5) is standard and played down the middle - which makes it a unique offering in Happyland, where you rarely see such a staple. The Fairmount does it well, with succulent beer-battered Alaskan Pollack served with delicious potato wedges.
Goes down well with the Cucumber Fizz ($7.50), one of five cocktails on a discounted drink list that also includes eight martinis. Which only means there's reason - or two, or three - to go back again...
