InterContinental Suites Hotel

InterContinental Suites Cleveland Clinic

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights, and was an outpatient at the Cleveland Clinic.

Location: If you are able, you can easily walk to the main Clinic building 1 block away. There are really no convenience stores nearby. We brought our own bottled water, snacks, etc. Note that this hotel is not connected via a walkway/skyway.

Transportation: There are frequent Clinic shuttles, and the Health Line (public bus - very clean). The hotel courtesy van is hit/miss - seemed like it was often "tied up". However, they were short on drivers that week.

Room: We stayed in a King Suite. It was like a little apartment, with a huge bathroom. Very nice. Bed was large & comfy. 2 large TV's, microwave, and small fridge. The fridge takes a long time to get cold so don't plan on storing highly perishable items. Free basic wifi - don't expect to stream videos.
I have hyper sensitive skin & had no problems from the sheets. Towels were a little scratchy, and HVAC vent is directed right at the bed, so you need to master that. In room movies, though expensive, are nice if you need to stay in & rest. The doors do slam, so door closers wouldn't be a bad idea, but that didn't ruin my stay.

Food: The hotel restaurant, C2, offers many healthful and vegetarian/vegan options. Everything tasted fresh. We tried the veggie wrap, portabello burger, salad, fries, salmon, flatbread pizza, and crabcakes. All were very good. The servers & bartender in the lounge were all super friendly. Service is a little slow sometimes - even if you are the only person in the restaurant. But everything was cooked to order, so that's probably part of it. Don't go here if you are in a big hurry. ( Not sure why people wouldn't eat here instead of in the Clinic.food options are not that great at CC).

Room Service: Food was hot, fresh, and there was a pretty flower on the table each time. My only complaint: We wanted to order a salmon sandwich for dinner (we had seen it on the lunch menu). We were told we could not. They need to be more flexible with that. Salmon is on the dinner menu, so. just make the wrap for us & call it a day :)

Fitness Center: Everything is brand new, very nice. I sure wouldn't mind if that were our basement!

Parking: You will pay $16 per day for parking, whether you ever need to use your vehicle or not. Also, you are not allowed to walk to your car to get something out. This is an "oh well".

Staff - Varies: Some employees of note due to their friendliness, helpfulness, and/or professionalism: Ashley (Front Desk), Octavia (Front Desk), Kirstal (Concierge), Barbara (housekeeping), Marisol & Velice (?) - at C2, Jeff (C2 Lounge), Pete & Richard & AJ (drivers). There were others as well, but I can't remember them all. I'd have to say most of the staff was great.

There were a few staff members who either NEVER cracked a smile (even when ya handed 'em a good tip), or made some errors with information.
