Free things in Cleveland
CLEVELAND, Ohio - If you love free food and baseball then, well, what a time to be alive.
Places like Chipotle, Taco Bell and Inca Tea are running free promotions in honor of the World Series between the Indians and Cubs. There are catches, however. Get it? Catches.
From 4-10 p.m. Tuesday, fans who show up at Greater Cleveland and Akron Chipotle locations in Indians-related gear can buy one/get one free burritos, bowls, salads or orders of tacos. If you happen to be reading this from Chicago, the offer is good for Cubs gear-wearing fans there as well.
Over at Taco Bell, everybody in the U.S. can get a free Doritos Locos Taco as long as a player steals a base during the Fall Classic. If the stolen base occurs during Game 1 or 2, the free tacos can be redeemed on Nov. 2. If it happens during any other game, the free taco day is Nov. 10.
The Indians led the American League in stolen bases this season, so this one is pretty much in the bag. Get it? Bag.
Finally, Cleveland-based Inca Tea will be giving away free boxes of its Peruvian purple corn-infused tea when if the Indians win the whole darn thing. The offer will be good on the day after an Indians championship victory.
"We are confident that Cleveland will bring home the pennant, and we can't think of a better way to celebrate than by spreading some Cleveland love across the country, " Inca Tea's Ryan Florio said in an email.
