Comfort Inn Cleveland Clinic
Just back from Cleveland Clinic where a friend had surgery, and I stayed at the Comfort Inn on Euclid Avenue for 5 nights. I researched Trip Advisor - and a couple of other Web sites - and found Comfort Inn (Euclid Avenue), for quality and price, to be the best option. When my friend called the surgeon's office, his assistant, also recommended Comfort Inn, above all other hotels in the area, as the best option for those coming into Cleveland Clinic.
Book directly with the hotel mentioning that you are there for the Cleveland Clinic for the special rate of $68 plus applicable taxes. It includes a CLEAN & COMFORTABLE standard room, FREE PARKING, a FREE shuttle service to/from the Clinic, FREE breakfast bar (which has a very nice and adequate selection), and the NICEST and FRIENDLIEST hotel staff you will find anywhere, - they are VERY HELPFUL! Note, at the Clinic you will be dropped off at what is called the entrance to Cleveland Clinic, which is the Miller Pavilion. There are a series of underground and above ground tunnels and pathways so that you do not have to walk out in the elements. There are Cleveland Clinic employees wearing red coats that can assist you with finding these tunnels and pathways.
Finding Food: If you go right on Euclid, there are several lower-cost restaurant options (a diner, a Mediterranean type restaurant with wraps, crepes, etc.) several restaurants within 3 or 4 blocks. If you take a left on Euclid walking a block and a half, there are more upscale restaurants. We ate at Bricco three nights; excellent food, upscale atmosphere, not too pricey. There are also a handful of restaurants across the street that looked really good as well. If you walk down about 10 blocks or so, there is the “House of Blues.” In the alley way before you reach the “House of Blues” there is a long restaurant row where there are quite a variety of restaurants as well. In the hotel itself, there is a Subway, a pizza place, and a Mexican-style restaurant underneath the hotel; I ordered quesadillas from the Mexican restaurant; they were delicious.
I have an SUV, so I did request parking to the back of the hotel as opposed to the garage in the hotel.
The only downside that I can think of is that there is no fridge in the standard room, but I had an ice chest with me, so that was no big deal. Also, there is no safe in the room.
This hotel has a Business Center, but there was excellent WiFi in the room, so bring your laptop!
YES, there are more upscale hotels in the area. Just down the street, there are a variety of other hotels from which to choose. But, WHY would you pay more when you get great Quality, Value & Service? I highly recommend this hotel.
