Detention Division

The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office Detention Division consists of two facilities, The Cleveland County Detention Center, 407 McBrayer Street, Shelby and the Law Enforcement Detention Center located at 100 Justice Place Shelby, North Carolina. Both facilities are manned twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

The Detention Division is comprised of 68 full time detention officers. The supervisory staff consist of a Detention Administrator (Captain), two Assistant Detention Administrators (Lieutenants) two Deputy Sheriff Sergeants and twelve Detention Corporals.

The staff of the Detention Division is dedicated to being well trained, competent, and professional officers. The safety of the staff, citizens and inmates is of the utmost importance in the daily operation of both facilities.
