Casino downtown Cleveland
The casino is housed in the former Higbee Department Store located in downtown Cleveland, a mainstay for generations of Clevelanders from the 1930s through the 1980s. In fact, out-of-towners might recognize the building from the 1983 movie, A Christmas Story.
Rest assured, you won't find a replica of the Statue of Liberty or a faux Egyptian pyramid here. In fact, Horseshoe operators restored the Higbee building's woodwork and brass doorways, maintained the high ceilings, and added art deco-style chandeliers and other touches to channel the store's air of elegance. The opulent and completely smoke-free building located in the heart of downtown is free to enter and open 24-7.
In addition to a huge buffet on the ground level, the casino includes local dining options. Choices include restaurants by Cleveland Chef Michael Symon of the Food Network's "Iron Chef" and local favorite Chef Rocco Whalen. In addition, visitors can feast at an outpost of the popular Cleveland deli, Corky & Lenny's.
