Operational since 1882, Cleveland Metroparks Zoo houses a large collection of over 3, 000 animals, representing nearly 600 species. Based at Cleveland, Ohio, it also maintains a botanical garden. Some of the animals at the zoo include armadillos, deer, emu, elephants, Koalas, salamanders and vipers. It hosts educational trips, programs, overnight adventures, teacher workshops and camps. The zoo also permits parties, picnics, receptions and meeting to be organized on its premises.
